November 7, 2025, Singapore — Sir David Bell, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of the University of Sunderland, UK, together with Lan Moody, Director of International, visited Shelton College International (SCI) in Singapore. The delegation met with the college’s leadership to discuss the deepening and expansion of their joint degree programs, further strengthening the long-term strategic partnership between the two institutions.

In-Depth Exchange: Reviewing Achievements and Recognizing Shelton’s Strengths

Both sides highly praised the accomplishments achieved since the partnership began, particularly highlighting Shelton’s practical experience and industry-leading standards in film production, media, and creative education. Representatives from the University of Sunderland noted that Shelton’s Mandarin-language curriculum, independent campus, and practice-oriented courses provide students with an educational experience that balances international perspectives with local cultural context, significantly enhancing the competitiveness of students in the film production field.

A Model of International Education Cooperation: Studying the UK’s Top Film Production Program in Singapore

Shelton has established multi-level, multi-disciplinary joint degree programs with the University of Sunderland, covering undergraduate and master’s levels. All programs can be completed entirely at Shelton’s Singapore campus, with graduates receiving official degrees from the University of Sunderland, recognized by the Chinese Ministry of Education’s Service Center for Scholarly Exchange. Notably, Sunderland’s Film & Television Production program was ranked No. 1 in the UK for Film Production and Photography in The Guardian University Guide 2023. Shelton students in Singapore follow the same academic standards as those in the UK, laying a solid foundation for future careers in the international film and media industry.
