University of Sunderland Vice-Chancellor Visits Shelton College International to Advance International Education Collaboration
Professor David Bell, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of the University of Sunderland, led a delegation to visit Shelton College International in Singapore, aiming to deepen strategic collaboration in international education. This visit marks a significant milestone in the long-standing partnership between the two institutions and lays a solid foundation for future cooperation in undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes.
During the visit, both sides engaged in open and pragmatic discussions on key topics including academic system development, curriculum innovation, cross-cultural talent cultivation, and resource sharing. The two institutions reached multiple important agreements to further strengthen their academic alliance.

Professor Bell expressed his appreciation during the visit:

He also highlighted several existing joint programmes between the two institutions, including the BA (Hons) in Media Production, BA (Hons) in Performing Arts, BA (Hons) in Business and Human Resource Management, and the MA in Media Production (Film and Television) — all flagship courses that rank highly within the UK and globally.

Since the establishment of the partnership, Shelton College International has achieved significant results in programme quality, academic administration, student support, and stakeholder feedback. Integrated Training Pathways: The collaboration will extend to faculty training, industry certification, and industry-academia partnerships, ensuring that students not only earn globally recognised qualifications but also gain valuable industry experience.
Supporting Chinese Students’ Global Development
Joint programmes between Shelton College International and the University of Sunderland offer flexible structures and seamless progression routes, making them ideal for Chinese students transitioning into an international academic environment. Courses are taught in English, with dedicated Mandarin academic support provided to help students enhance both their language and academic skills before progressing to the UK stage of their studies.
To date, Shelton College International has been awarded Singapore’s EduTrust certification four consecutive times, a testament to its excellence in academic management, student satisfaction, and internationalisation efforts.
